How the Tournament Works
The eight players split into two groups of four. Each player faces the other three in their group in a round-robin format.
The top two from each group move on to the semifinals. The winners of those matches then meet in the final on November 22.
Shelton and Tiafoe are trying to become the first American champion since Pete Sampras in 1999. Zverev won the title in 2018 and 2021.
Players to Watch
Zverev arrives as the new world No. 1 and a two-time champion. His big serve fits the fast indoor court well.
Alcaraz is always a threat with his speed, power and creative shot-making from every part of the court. Medvedev has also won this event before.
Local fans will cheer loudly for Cobolli. Home crowds often give Italian players an extra lift in Turin.
Fils and Jodar bring youth and energy to the field. Both have climbed the rankings quickly this season and could surprise the bigger names.
Tiafoe is known for his fun, crowd-pleasing style. His first trip to the event will be one of the stories of the week.
